Troop 840 Signs Up for Camp Geronimo Summer Adventure in June 2027

Troop 840 has a long tradition of seeking adventure. The 2027 season is no exception. The Troop has decided that the next stop on our journey will be the Camp Geronimo.

Camp Geronimo offers 40+ merit badges, aquatics, shooting sports, hiking, nature, handicraft, evening programs and open-program activities.

For the older Scouts, Geronimo's Spade Ranch Adventure gets into climbing, canyoneering, caving, horseback riding, canoeing, mountain biking and overnight adventures.

For Troop 840, this trip is more than a date on the calendar. It is a chance to prepare early, build excitement, and help every Scout arrive ready to make the most of camp.

Why Camp Geronimo is a strong choice for Troop 840

Over the last 6 years Troop 840 has participated in 10 BSA High Adventure camps. With several Scouts Earning The BSA Triple Crown and even a few earning the Grand Slam.

Our boys thirst for adventure and the West is Calling.

Camp Geronimo has program for every level in the Troop.

We will travel as a unit and set the older Scouts to participate in the High Adventure portion and those that are younger and still building their Scouting resume will work on merit badges and enjoy a traditional summer camp experience in an untraditional location.

The camp experience usually centers on a few core parts:

  • Daily program blocks

Scouts attend merit badge sessions, camp activities, or adventure programs.

  • Patrol and troop time

Scouts eat, camp, clean up, plan, and participate together.

  • Outdoor skills

Camp life builds habits around responsibility, gear care, safety, and teamwork.

  • Evening traditions

Campfires, ceremonies, games, and reflection help make the week memorable.

For Troop 840, signing up this early creates a planning advantage. Families have time to mark calendars, start saving, ask questions, and help Scouts choose the right program path. Youth leaders have time to talk about goals for the trip. Adult leaders have time to organize transportation, paperwork, equipment, and training needs.

That early planning can turn a good campout into a great one.

A summer camp trip builds memories that last

The value of summer camp often shows up after the trip is over. A Scout comes home more confident using gear. Another Scout talks nonstop about a favorite activity. A patrol that struggled on the first day figures out how to work together by the end of the week.

Those moments matter.

Camp Geronimo in June 2027 gives Troop 840 a shared goal to look forward to. It gives Scouts time to prepare, dream, and challenge themselves. It gives families a clear event to support. It gives leaders a chance to help youth grow through outdoor adventure.

The setting near the Grand Canyon region adds to the excitement, but the heart of the trip will be the Scouts themselves. Their choices, effort, teamwork, and attitude will shape the week.

Looking ahead to June 2027

Troop 840’s sign-up for Camp Geronimo is the first step in a long and exciting trail. Between now and June 2027, the troop will have time to plan, practice, ask questions, and build excitement.

Scouts can begin thinking about merit badges and high adventure. Families can watch for updates and prepare for the trip timeline. Leaders can guide the troop toward a camp experience that is safe, organized, and meaningful.

When June 2027 arrives, the best-prepared Scouts will not be the ones with the newest gear. They will be the ones who practiced, listened, helped their patrol, and came ready to try.

That is what makes summer camp worth the wait.
